As high school students we have the opportunity to attend the community college and receive credits for college. Many kids take advantage of the opportunity, while others completely let this chance fly past them. Yet for those who actually go and participate things are not what they expect. Many of the adults in their classes disprove of the idea and give the high school students a hard time. Why? Well that's pretty easy. Many of the high school students go to college pretending to be something they are not. With so much freedom that is not allowed in high school, they get lost and become ignorant of the reality. These kids give the entire duel enrollment community a bad name. Yes, it is true many teens are immature and they attend college as a joke, but what about the other students who actually strive for the opportunity given and try their best? It's not fair for us who are mature and are taking advantage of this great opportunity. I, for one, am completely appreciative of this opportunity. I am only a high school junior, yet I am completely finished with my high school credit courses and my technical program. I no longer go to my high school in the mornings, instead I attend college as a full time student, and the best part of it is that its COMPLETELY FREE! I don't have to pay for a single thing, and at the rate things are going, I will have my associates degree in general studies before I even receive my high school diploma. So if all students have the same chance to do what I am doing, why do so many of them think its a game and don't try as hard as they should?
